Security Officer
Our client is seeking Museum Security Officers (MSOs) to join their Operations Department on a temporary basis.

The Role
As a Museum Security Officer, you will provide a visible and reassuring presence throughout the Gallery's public spaces and exhibition areas. You'll play a key role in maintaining security, responding to incidents, and contributing to a welcoming and positive visitor experience.
Reporting to the Security Supervisor (or nominated deputy), your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing front-of-house security and surveillance across the Gallery
- Monitoring and reporting any security, safety, or fire incidents, and completing relevant documentation
- Assisting with investigations relating to loss or damage
- Supporting the implementation of the Gallery's Security and Safety Management Plan
- Offering helpful and courteous information to visitors about exhibitions, events, and facilities
- Adhering to all Gallery policies, procedures, and instructions
- Carrying out other duties as required by the Security Supervisor
About You
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of professionalism, vigilance, and a genuine commitment to excellent visitor service.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- At least 1 year's experience in a customer service, front-of-house, or security role
- Experience using security, safety, and fire equipment
- Basic IT proficiency (Microsoft Office)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Relevant qualification in Security or related field
- Experience in museums, galleries, or cultural institutions
- Ability to speak additional languages
- Commitment to ongoing professional training and development
