Our client, a leader in food production in Kildare, is seeking an Electrician Technician to join their engineering team. This is a fully automated, clean production facility operating on rotating day/evening shifts, offering excellent career growth and training opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver reactive and planned maintenance across the site to keep production running smoothly.
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot plant and equipment.
- Perform basic programming and diagnostics on machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot using PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, Schneider).
- Contribute to maximising uptime and minimising downtime across production and utility systems.
- Execute preventive maintenance programs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, GMP, and LOTO procedures.
- Time-served Electrician or a third-level Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role, both reactive and planned.
- Strong knowledge of motor control systems, pneumatics, process temperature controls, and PLC/PC control systems.
- Experience with CMMS systems and troubleshooting PLCs.
- Understanding of food safety standards (BRC, ISO).
- Hands-on problem solver with strong communication skills.
- Flexible to work rotating day and evening shifts and participate in the on-call rota.
