Reporting To: Head of Engineering
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay: €34,882 Annually
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

With over a century of experience, Mulrines now employs a highly motivated workforce of more than 220 people, operating from two major sites in Ireland, including our HQ in Ballybofey and our orchards in Kildare.
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our busy manufacturing team in Ballybofey. This role involves supporting the ongoing maintenance and smooth operation of production machinery to ensure high availability and performance.
Duties to include -Perform routine and planned maintenance on mechanical equipment including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults to minimize production downtime
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support equipment improvements and upgrades
Manufacture or modify spare parts using workshop machinery where required
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
Participate in shutdowns, machine installations, and changeovers as necessary
Support and train junior team members and operators on maintenance best practices
Minimum of a Trade Certificate or Apprenticeship qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitting & Turning, or related disciplineAt least 5 years’ experience in a maintenance fitter or mechanical technician role within manufacturing, packaging, or similar industrial settings
Strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, valves, gearboxes, belt drives, and conveyor systems
Experience using machining tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders is desirable
Good understanding of safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and permit-to-work systems
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a team environment
Flexible to work shifts including evenings and nights as required
