This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance.Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be involved within our team and will gain experience in a variety of tasks. The applicant will receive formal training for a SafePass, Manual Handling and HazWasteOnline Application.The applicant will be mentored by a Senior Consultant in reporting EIARs, AA and NIS, SEA and other Environmental Reporting.
The applicant will be trained in surveying site for invasive species, nesting bird and other ecological assessments. Our involvement in wastewater means the applicant will be trained in groundwater and surface water sampling and the review of the laboratory results.The senior consultant will mentor the applicant in wastewater design and solutions.
As the applicant receives formal training in HazWasteOnline, he/she will be taught the complete waste process form sampling, laboratory result interpretation and classification to overseeing waste removal and end reporting.
The applicant will be trained in Waste Permit, Licence and Collection permit applications and compliance of these permits and Licences in the form of sampling, periodic reporting, making amendments and end of year reporting and submissions.
The Senior consultant will mentor the applicant in liaising with EPA, County Councils, Clients and Stakeholders.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
