About the role
Rayco Group is hiring an experienced Civil Ground Worker to support site preparation, drainage, utilities, and reinstatement works. You will work as part of a mobile crew delivering safe, quality civil works to programme.
Key responsibilities
Site prep including setting out lines and levels, digging, grading, and compacting
Install drainage, ducting, chambers, kerbs, edgings, and paving to drawings and specs
Trench supports, backfilling, reinstatement, and compaction testing as required
Locate and protect existing services and maintain accurate levels and falls
Operate small plant and tools such as compactors, saws, breakers, and lasers
Assist with concrete works, shuttering, and finishing
Complete daily checks, keep work areas tidy, and follow RAMS and all H&S requirements
Work with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to meet targets and quality standards
What you need
Proven experience as a civil or utilities ground worker on roads, housing, or industrial sites
Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and full driving licence
CSCS tickets for relevant plant are an advantage such as 360 excavator, dumper, roller
Strong understanding of drainage installation, ducting, and pavement construction
Ability to read drawings and use laser levels or GPS equipment
Good communication, reliability, and a strong safety mindset
Flexibility for travel, early starts, and occasional weekend work
Nice to have
SLG or Traffic Management qualification
Confined Spaces, Abrasive Wheels, First Aid
Experience with concrete pours, kerb laying, and block paving
