Overview

A leading financial services organisation is hiring an experienced L3 Infrastructure Engineer to join its IT Operations team. This is a hands-on senior infrastructure role with full ownership of server, virtualisation, and core infrastructure platforms, as well as responsibility for project delivery and upgrades.

This is a critical hire due to team expansion and increased project demand, offering strong technical ownership, autonomy, and long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the final escalation point (Level 3) for complex infrastructure issues
• Provide advanced troubleshooting across Windows, virtualisation, storage, and networking
• Support internal platforms across multiple sites

• Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2019 / 2022)
• Own VMware virtual infrastructure
• Support and optimise enterprise-grade server and storage platforms
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity services

• Lead infrastructure projects end-to-end
• Deliver server upgrades, application upgrades, and infrastructure modernisation initiatives
• Own planning, execution, documentation, and handover

• Support cloud-based backup and disaster recovery platforms
• Manage enterprise backup systems and recovery testing

• Support security, audit, and compliance requirements
• Maintain strong documentation, change control, and ITIL-aligned processes

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Have:

• Strong experience in Windows Server, VMware, and enterprise infrastructure
• Proven project ownership and delivery experience
• Comfortable acting as senior escalation point
• Background in corporate / enterprise IT environments
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

Nice-to-Have:

• Cloud backup / disaster recovery exposure
• Security, audit, or compliance experience
