We are seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hands-on maintenance professional looking to make an immediate impact and play a key role in ensuring production uptime and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and supporting the Plant Co-ordinator, you will work alongside a dedicated team including fellow technicians and apprentices. You will be responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of production machinery and facilities.
Location: Naas, Co. KildareSalary: €26.50 per hour + 15% Shift Allowance
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 22:30

Key Responsibilities:
Provide timely and effective maintenance support across the production facility.Execute electrical wiring, equipment installation, and commissioning tasks.
Conduct both scheduled and reactive maintenance on plant equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems, including PLC-controlled machinery.
Liaise with equipment suppliers on installation, upgrades, and modifications.
Perform facility checks, including meter readings and discrepancy resolution.
Minimize downtime across production and utilities through proactive intervention.
Supervise and manage on-site contractors, including permits and safety induction.
Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with GMP, safety standards, and site protocols.
Support call-outs and phone cover as part of the maintenance team rotation.
Assist Health & Safety in machinery risk assessments and training.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an FMCG environment – essential.Recognized qualification in Engineering, or time-served Electrician/Fitter.
Strong hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Skilled in diagnostics and repair of industrial machinery, including PLC/PC-controlled systems.
Experience with instrumentation, control systems, and programming.
Strong commitment to Quality, Health, and Safety standards.
Proficient with computers and Excel for basic data entry and reporting.
Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
Previous leadership or supervisory exposure (role includes oversight of two apprentices).
