Role Overview
This role involves researching, writing, and producing high-quality editorial content focused on the Irish rural property market, land use, and rural financial issues. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of agriculture and rural life, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to analyse and present data clearly across print and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Research, write, and produce property-related content across print, digital, social media, and video platforms
- Cover land and property sales, auctions, leasing activity, entitlements, and trends within the Irish rural property market
- Monitor the property and land markets and pitch story ideas to editors
- Lead and contribute to annual property and land market reports, including data collection, analysis, and article production
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with auctioneers, estate agents, and industry stakeholders nationwide
- Produce finance and rural business articles relevant to farming families, including tax, succession, inheritance, land transfer, and household financial issues
- Work closely with editorial teams to plan content and consistently meet deadlines
- Contribute to digital publishing outputs, including news updates, blogs, multimedia content, and social channels
- Represent the publication at industry events, conferences, and external media engagements as required
- Strong understanding of the Irish rural property market and agricultural land use
- Solid knowledge of Irish agriculture and rural business issues
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to interpret property and financial data and present it clearly to readers
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working under strict deadlines in a fast-paced editorial environment
- Experience producing digital and multimedia content
- Third-level qualification in journalism, agriculture, finance, property, or a related discipline
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
- National travel is required as part of the role
- Responsibilities may evolve in line with editorial and business needs
- Flexibility is required to support wider publishing objectives when needed
