Job Description:

Cumnor Construction Ltd is a well-established construction company delivering residential, commercial and civil engineering projects across Ireland. Due to ongoing project requirements, we are seeking to recruit a Quality Assurance Technician to support engineering and site teams through quality assurance, inspection, testing and compliance activities.

This is a technical role focused on ensuring construction works, materials and processes meet required specifications, standards and regulatory requirements. The position combines site-based inspections with documentation, testing and quality system support and is suitable for candidates with a technical or quality qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties (not an exhaustive list):

Quality & Technical Duties (Primary Focus)
Carrying out site-based quality inspections on construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and standards
Assisting engineers and site management with quality control and assurance processes
Conducting and recording material inspections and basic testing (e.g. concrete, aggregates, workmanship checks)
Monitoring construction processes to identify defects, non-conformances or deviations from specifications
Maintaining accurate quality records, inspection reports, checklists and test results
Assisting in the preparation and review of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
Supporting internal audits, site audits and compliance checks
Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers on quality-related issues

Assisting with the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s quality management systems

Support & Site Coordination Duties (Secondary)
Providing technical support to site teams where required
Coordinating with site supervisors to ensure corrective actions are implemented
Supporting health, safety and environmental compliance in conjunction with quality activities

Participating in site meetings related to quality and technical compliance

Requirements:
Relevant qualification in Quality, Engineering, Construction Technology or related discipline (minimum NFQ Level 6 or equivalent)
Previous experience in a construction, engineering or quality assurance environment
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and quality standards
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary site team
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills

Competent in basic IT systems (reports, spreadsheets, digital quality records)
