We’re working on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in West Cork who are looking to add a Maintenance Technician to their on-site engineering team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced plant environment and wants long-term stability with a reputable employer.Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Technician will play a key role in ensuring plant and machinery operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The position involves a mix of preventative maintenance, breakdown response, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Location: Bandon Co. CorkContract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain and support site services including RO plant, WWTP, and refrigeration systemsPerform daily start-up and shut-down checks on plant machinery
Respond to breakdowns quickly, safely, and effectively
Carry out routine servicing, repairs, and general maintenance of equipment
Ensure all maintenance work is completed to high safety, hygiene, and quality standards
Follow and help improve the preventative maintenance schedule
Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation
Comply fully with company Health & Safety policies
Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site
Support additional tasks as required by the engineering team
What We’re Looking For:
Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentA practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
Comfortable working under pressure and to deadlines
Strong awareness and adherence to Health & Safety standards
Good level of spoken and written English
Experience with TIG/arc welding, meat processing machinery, or plant repair is beneficial but not essential
Refrigeration experience is an advantage, though training can be provided
