Site / Civil Engineer - Irish Water Projects

Dublin, Ireland (daily commute required)
Role Overview:
We are currently recruiting Site/Civil Engineers to support delivery of infrastructure projects within the Irish Water network. The successful candidates will be responsible for engineering and site-based delivery activities across civil and utilities projects, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, and in line with programme and quality requirements.
These roles require strong setting-out capability and hands-on site engineering experience on civil infrastructure and utility works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out setting out and surveying duties on-site using total stations and GPS equipment
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical information to ensure accurate execution of works
- Support site management teams in delivering civil and utilities projects on programme
- Ensure works are completed in compliance with design, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Conduct as-built surveys and maintain accurate site records
- Assist in coordination of subcontractors and site activities
- Liaise with designers, project managers, and utility providers as required
- Monitor progress and report any technical or site issues promptly
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health & safety, and company procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Civil Engineer in the construction industry
- Strong setting-out experience is essential
- Experience working on civil engineering and utility projects (water, drainage, infrastructure, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Full clean driver's licence (essential)
- Must be able to commute to Dublin daily
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work effectively on active construction sites
Desirable:
- Experience on Irish Water or similar utility infrastructure projects
- Proficiency with surveying equipment (e.g., Leica, Trimble)
- Relevant engineering degree or qualification
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures on Irish construction sites
