Platform Engineer New

Platform Engineer daily rate contract role, hybrid to Dublin, we are seeking hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure to help build and support our cloud-native environments.

In this role, you will work as a key contributor within our cloud platform team, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and secure delivery pipelines to: collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver well-architected solutions aligned with industry best practices.

You will;

Design, build, and maintain scalable platform infrastructure in AWS to support business-critical applications with high availability and security requirements.

Partner with other software engineers, SREs, and security teams to implement automation around deployment, observability, and compliance.

Identify opportunities to eliminate toil and automate the triage of issues to improve overall operational stability Champion DevSecOps practices by integrating security controls into the platform lifecycle.

Contribute to the design of highly available systems that are resilient to cloud-native failure modes.

Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other platform engineers and cross-functional teams.

Stay informed on emerging technologies and bring forward recommendations for adoption or enhancement

7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, including 3+ years of direct experience with AWS.

Proven experience designing production-grade cloud infrastructure in regulated environments.

Deep understanding of cloud security, networking, identity and access management, and governance within AWS.

Proficiency in a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Shell).

Experience with continuous integration/delivery pipelines and GitOps workflows.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Experience with multi-account cloud architecture, landing zones, or control tower setups.

Familiarity with zero-trust architecture, data encryption, and key management systems (KMS).

Strong proficiency with using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to build cloud infrastructure solutions and automating cloud deployments Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.

Hands
  • on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes).
  • Advanced knowledge of networking (firewalls, DNS, Load Balancing, Proxies, etc.) Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or Dynatrace, as well as AWS native tools Experience optimizing cost and performance across large-scale cloud environments.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in cloud engineering communities.
