Medical Underwriter | Italian Speaker
Morgan McKinley Dublin
A highly respected, market-leading financial services and insurance provider is seeking a bilingual Medical Underwriter (Italian Speaker).
This role focuses on executing medical risk assessment, tariff pricing, and stakeholder management for a prominent Italian partner portfolio. Operating under strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs), you will serve as a key link between underwriting teams, business development, and external banking networks.
Responsibilities:
- Medical Underwriting & Pricing: Perform risk analysis and medical selection within approved authority limits. Apply established underwriting philosophies and ensure 100% accurate tariff calculations.
- Portfolio & SLA Management: Manage complex cases and prioritize high-value subscriptions. Deliver decisions within a strict 48-hour turnaround time to facilitate the partner network's credit process.
- Partner & Customer Relations: Handle inbound and outbound calls with the Italian bank network, customers, and internal business development teams, maintaining a monthly quality score of at least 95%.
- Data Security & Compliance: Ensure 100% secure handling and storage of all sensitive medical documentation. Assess underwriting-related complaints when necessary.
- Training & Innovation: Design and implement annual medical training plans for colleagues (e.g., common pathologies). Propose process improvements for pricing tools and systems.
- Team Support & Reporting: Act as a key referent for new joiners, provide expert support in the absence of the Team Leader, and prepare monthly reports for management and reinsurers.
The perfect candidate will have:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in medical underwriting, ideally within the insurance or creditor protection sectors. Experience in a customer-facing or contact center environment is an asset.
- Education: A background in Life Sciences, Nursing, Medicine, or a related healthcare field is highly desirable.
- Languages: Mandatory fluency in both Italian and English (written and verbal).
- Technical Skills: Strong command of medical terminology, pathology, and pharmacology. Familiarity with tariff pricing tools and reinsurance guidelines is required.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical data clearly. Highly organized, solution-oriented, and capable of working autonomously under tight deadlines.
