Retail Accountant New - Cork

My retail client is seeking a qualified or part-qualified accountant to join their team on a permanent basis, bringing strong technical accounting skills and experience in management accounts, reconciliations, and cashflows.

Responsibilities:

• Managing core accounting tasks including posting invoices, processing cash sheets, recording bank payments, and completing weekly bank and creditor reconciliations.
• Preparing monthly creditor payment runs in line with company schedules.
• Preparing weekly management reports such as cashflows, gross profit calculations, KPI reports, and other ad-hoc analyses as required.
• Producing accurate and timely management accounts, leading to the preparation of final annual accounts for external audit.
• Ensuring the prompt and compliant submission of all statutory tax returns, including VAT, PAYE/PRSI, CSO, and other regulatory filings.
• Liaising with external auditors on statutory accounts and related matters as required.

Requirements:

• Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA) or qualified by relevant industry experience.
• Strong technical accounting skills with experience in preparing management accounts, reconciliations, and statutory returns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to produce accurate reports and analyses.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage deadlines, liaise with auditors, and work effectively across teams.
