Application Details

This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance.

Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.

Job Description

The successful candidate will receive full training, both theory and practical with the goal after 6 months of becoming a qualified Barista. The candidate will assist the Coffee Bar Manager in making coffees and other beverages for customers.

They will learn processes with regards to opening the coffee bar, machine maintenance and operation, grinder calibration, barista techniques, point of sale operation, and making the perfect coffee.
Under the close guidance of the Coffee Bar Manager, they will have a responsibility for ensuring the quality and consistence of our products, while also learning to multi-take and interact with our customers.

Stock replenishment and movement will be involved in the role. Daily closing tasks will be learned also with a significant focus on cleaning standards.

The successful candidate will be enrolled in our intensive 3 day Licence to Work course in our training school in advance of starting, and will then be working on a programme over the six months ensuring consistent development.

Role Description

This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.

This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
