This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance.Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Job Description
This is a great opportunity for individuals seeking to gain practical, hands-on experience andtraining in an established Cork Coffee Company. You will gain practical experience in various
aspects of a Warehouse Assistant role and be guided in this role by the warehouse
manager. You will also receive Barista training and learn how to be a Barista.
At Cork Coffee Roasters, we bring in green coffee from around the world, store in Silos and
roast it on a traditional coffee roasting machine. The participant will be trained on all aspects
of preparation and distribution of our coffee
The participant will be shown how to roast the coffee.
The participant will be trained in how to use the coffee bagging machine to preparethe coffee for distribution to our four shops as well as wholesale customers.
You will be trained in how to take orders over the phone and the internet.
You will receive training on completing invoices and preparing documents for our
accountants.
Additionally, the participant will be trained on aspects of the general coffee business and will
be provided with Barista training, and so will be shown how to work as a Barista.
By the end of the programme, you will be familiar with a warehouse environment, how it
runs, what are the safety rules and how to follow them and finally, understand company
standards and how they are applied daily. Additionally you will have gained skills as a
Barista and be able to work in a Coffee Shop environment.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role isnecessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your
placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module
which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the
Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training
requirements for the WPEP.
