About the Role

We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established industrial engineering company based in Maynooth, Kildare to find a Senior Bookkeeper or Company Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, close‑knit finance team where you will work directly alongside the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day‑to‑day finance for the business: raising and chasing invoices, processing supplier bills, posting entries, managing VAT, and supporting the month-end close.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in an SME environment.

Salary DOE: €45,000-€55,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Accounts Receivable: customer invoicing and collections, including creating sales orders and issuing sales invoices.
  • Supporting Accounts Payable: supplier invoices, checking them against purchase orders, and scheduling payments.
  • Accurate bank reconciliations by matching transactions, resolving differences, and keeping cash balances up to date.
  • Reconciling invoices and managing the full invoicing process, ensuring all amounts are accurate, matched to supporting documents, and processed correctly.
  • Supporting the month‑end close process, including preparing journals, reviewing ledger activity, and completing key reconciliations.
  • Issuing operating manuals and commissioning reports to customers.
  • Preparing maintenance contract quotations.
  • Supporting VAT and Intrastat reporting requirements.
  • Carrying out additional administrative or finance tasks as required by management

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Prior experience in engineering or construction industry advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of AR and AP processes, reconciliations, and double entry bookkeeping.
  • A proactive, focused, /"can-do/" mindset.
  • Working well within a team whilst having the ability to take on tasks independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
