Package: £35,000 - £50,000 + bonus
We are supporting a leading European software group in their confidential search for a Deal Origination/ Business Development Associate to join their growing Origination & M&A function. This role is based in Dublin and will focus on identifying, engaging, and qualifying software companies across Ireland and the UK for potential acquisition.

Operating within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in the early stages of the acquisition pipeline. You will research the vertical market software landscape, identify potential targets, and initiate first-stage conversations with founders and senior stakeholders.
Working closely with senior team members across Europe, you will contribute to building a robust origination pipeline for the region.Key Responsibilities- Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn, and events
- Research and identify software companies across Ireland and the UK
- Initiate first discussions with founders and senior decision-makers
- Build relationships with key advisors (corporate finance, legal, banking, wealth management)
- Attend trade shows and industry events to create new connections
- Manage outreach activity using CRM tools (Salesforce)
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, insights, and progress
- Support senior colleagues in building a qualified M&A origination pipelineAbout You
- 2+ years' experience in business development, sales, lead generation, or a similar commercial role
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to speak to senior stakeholders
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn about technology and software markets
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, international environment
- Prior experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth companies is an advantage
- Fluent English is essential
