Technical Assistant
- Set up and operate audio, visual, and lighting equipment for events and performances
- Provide in-house technical support to visiting companies and artists
- Carry out routine inspections and maintenance of technical equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during performances
- Liaise with the Artistic Director and visiting companies to ensure technical requirements are met
- Assist in planning and delivering technical elements for concerts, theatre, festivals (on- and off-site), conferences, and presentations
- Work weekends when weekend programming is scheduled (approximately 20 weekends per annum)
- Carry out daily cleaning to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming venue
- Conduct regular building inspections and address maintenance needs
- Monitor and manage stocks of cleaning materials and equipment
- Assist with room setups and furniture rearrangements for events
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including emergency exits and fire safety equipment
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
- Comfortable overseeing the technical operation of uncomplicated shows and setups
- Willingness to assist with get-ins and work collaboratively with artists and staff
- Proactive, hands-on approach to caretaking and maintenance
- Strong communication skills and computer/email literacy
- A team player with an affable and professional manner
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and technical upskilling

Essential Experience & Skills- Proven experience operating audio, visual, and/or lighting equipment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
- Candidates must be of good character
