Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
Working with the Cope Foundation in Fermoy as a Healthcare Assistant you will receive a valuable and rewarding experience caring for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in caring for the physical and emotional well-being as well as personal
hygiene of the intellectually disabled person (children and/or adults) attending
the unit.- Assist with cognitive development, communication, play, P.E and other sporting
- Social integration, including use of local community facilities.
- Kitchen skills, cookery etc..
- Implementation of dietary programmes.
- Implementation of literacy and numeracy programmes.
- Responsible for the hygiene of equipment.
- To be a link, under the direction of the head of Unit, between the unit and
- Maintain confidentiality in all dealings.
- Participate in regular staff meetings.
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptable to changing circumstances
- An interest in social care
- Be able to work effectively in a team environment
