Mechanical Package Lead

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to oversee mechanical systems installation and coordination for a major pharmaceutical construction project in Athlone.

The Mechanical Lead is responsible for the site delivery, coordination, and supervision of all mechanical systems during the construction phase of a pharmaceutical facility.

The role ensures mechanical systems are installed according to design specifications, GMP requirements, safety standards, and the project schedule, and are delivered to mechanical completion ready for commissioning.
  • - Lead and manage mechanical engineering team throughout project lifecycle
  • Oversee design, installation, and commissioning of piping systems for pharmaceutical processes
  • Coordinate mechanical systems integration including HVAC, utilities, and process equipment
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards including GMP
  • Review and approve mechanical drawings, specifications, and installation procedures
  • Interface with project management, other engineering disciplines, and construction teams
  • Conduct quality inspections and testing of mechanical systems
  • Manage mechanical contractors and subcontractors
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues during construction and commissioning
  • - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in mechanical engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Extensive experience with process piping design and installation
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/cleanroom construction requirements
  • Proficiency in mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and process utilities
  • Experience with relevant codes and standards
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch language skills advantageous)
  • Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing facility projects
  • Knowledge of Dutch construction regulations and permit processes desireable
