Senior Systems Analyst
About the Role
The Senior Systems Analyst plays a critical role in enabling safe, compliant, and efficient operations at the OUS site by bridging business processes, manufacturing operations, and digital systems.
Working closely with the IT Plant Site Manager, local business teams, and global IT functions, this role provides hands‑on operational support, coordination, documentation, and problem resolution across IT and OT systems. The position is well suited to someone who enjoys being close to the business, supporting production-critical environments, and driving continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operational Support- Provide day-to-day operational support for OUS site IT and OT systems.
- Troubleshoot incidents, document issues, coordinate with global IT teams, and follow through to resolution.
- Support system testing, patching, upgrades, version updates, and verification activities.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation related to systems, equipment, upgrades, and process changes.
- Monitor system performance, service levels, and SLA compliance in collaboration with service providers.
- Capture, document, and clarify business and operational requirements for technology-related activities.
- Prepare reports, operational data summaries, action logs, and follow-up documentation.
- Support production, quality, and commercial teams during audits, deviations, investigations, or system-related events.
- Contribute to cross-functional meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and structured documentation.
- Support the delivery of small local IT initiatives, system upgrades, and process improvements.
- Track progress, risks, actions, and dependencies; escalate issues when required.
- Coordinate with external providers on estimates, timelines, and operational planning.
- Contribute to risk assessments, SOP updates, work instructions, and project documentation.
- Ensure alignment with Abbott’s corporate, divisional, and local quality, compliance, and governance standards.
- Coordinate cybersecurity remediation activities with corporate IT and site leadership.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support CAPAs, system validations, periodic reviews, and inspections.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and reporting.
- Ensure appropriate change management documentation is completed for all IT changes and system modifications.
- Communicate system status, incidents, risks, and progress clearly and professionally.
- Act as a key liaison between stakeholders with diverse technical and business backgrounds.
- Build strong working relationships across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, commercial, and IT teams.
- 2–5 years’ experience in IT support, OT systems, manufacturing systems, or plant operations.
- Experience supporting production environments (e.g., MES, PLC/HMI, SCADA, logistics systems) is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of IT fundamentals, including networks, infrastructure, applications, incident and change management.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills.
- Experience working within regulated environments (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, or similar) is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Supervisory & Leadership Scope
This role does not have direct people management responsibility. However, the Senior Systems Analyst may:
- Coordinate activities across internal teams and external service providers.
- Lead small workstreams, initiatives, or continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide operational support and insight to the IT Plant Site Manager.
- Supports IT and OT systems across the OUS site.
- Acts as a key operational IT resource for site leadership and business functions.
- Handles confidential business, operational, and technical information.
- Contributes to system uptime, data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Ensures alignment with global IT standards, processes, and governance.
