Trainee Accountant - Bantry

Morgan McKinley has partnered with a leading practice with offices in Bantry and Limerick to hire a Trainee Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a related Honors Degree and will be provided a professional qualification training contract with paid subscription and tuition fees.

What you will be doing:

• Preparation of financial statements for clients
• Preparation of financial highlights disclosures for financial statements
• Preparation of management accounts on a periodic basic (monthly/quarterly/etc)
• Preparation of excel schedules and notes as support for financial statements
• Liaising with external parties in relation to financial statements, including investment managers, administrators, auditors and other service providers
• Present financial statements for review to the Practice Manager/Principal
• Assistance with research of complicated transactions to ensure the accounting treatment is correct

Requirements:

• Related Honours degree
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to plan, prioritise between tasks and adhere to strict time deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Some industry experience in an accounting role would be an advantage
• Academic knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles would be an advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• A keen interest in learning and in career progression
• Legal right to work in Ireland
