Job Description
This placement provides supervised, hands-on training in signage and advertising production. The participant will work alongside experienced staff and gain practical skills across the full production process.Advertising Production Assistant involves assisting in the production, assembly, and finishing of signage and advertising materials as part of a production team.
The placement requires working hands-on with materials such as aluminum, PVC, and acrylic, and operating equipment, CNC machines, vinyl cutting plotters, and UV printers, with full training provided for machine operation.
Under supervision, the participant will learn to:- Understand the workflow of signage production from preparation to finishing
- Work with materials such as aluminium, PVC, and acrylic
- Assist in operating equipment (CNC machines, vinyl plotters, UV printers) under supervision
- Develop skills in assembly, finishing, and quality checking of products
- Follow health and safety procedures in a production environment
- Build teamwork, communication, and time management skills
- Assist in preparing materials for production
- Support machine operation and observe processes
- Help with vinyl application, lamination, and finishing
- Assist in assembling signage and display products
- Carry out basic quality checks with guidance
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
Training will be structured and progressive, with increasing involvement as skills develop.
