About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Energy and Sustainability Engineer to lead, manage, design, and evaluate energy-related projects and programs aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing costs. You will play a pivotal role in the design, construction, or remodeling phases of projects, ensuring sustainable practices are at the forefront.

Hybrid Work model - 2 days remote - Locations availabe in Cork or Dublin

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Project Management:
  • Lead and manage the Energy & Sustainability Engineering aspects for all projects.
  • Ensure project performance and profitability while maintaining exceptional client care.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Energy Modeling & Analysis:
  • Coordinate dynamic thermal modeling (IESVE) for Part L Assessments, Comfort Analysis (TM52/59), natural ventilation studies, and daylighting.
  • Lead residential Part L assessments using accredited SAP software as part of large-scale energy strategies.
  • Sustainability Strategy & Reporting:
  • Undertake and oversee studies for BREEAM credits, including thermal comfort, low/zero carbon technologies, emissions reduction, operational energy predictions, and daylighting.
  • Prepare Energy & Sustainability Statements to complement planning submissions, managing contributions from various design team stakeholders.
  • Create high-quality reports and sustainability strategies, communicating key insights effectively.
  • Certifications & Audits:
  • Conduct domestic and/or non-domestic EPCs for new and existing buildings.
  • Manage and audit subcontractors and their information.
  • Innovation & Change:
  • Lead change initiatives involving new systems and technologies.
  • Support bids for new opportunities, contributing to marketing material and representing the company in interviews.
  • Client Engagement & Collaboration:
  • Attend client meetings, surveys, and training as required.
  • Collaborate with other offices to maintain a unified approach.

About You:

  • Proven experience in energy and sustainability engineering.
  • Strong expertise in thermal modeling, SAP software, and sustainability reporting.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present high-quality reports.
  • Flexibility to travel for client meetings and project needs.
