The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the existing CCE (Chief Civil Engineer) and IM (Infrastructure Management) Commercial and Contracts team, utilizing its expertise to manage commercial and contractual aspects of all projects form a pre and post contract perspective.
The ideal candidate would be highly motivated, ambitious, and can work as part of a team, or individually, as required by the various projects.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying
- Must hold MSCSI and/or MRICS accreditation
- 5+ years’ relevant work experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Computer literate (preferably Word, Excel, SharePoint, AutoCAD, Cubit/ CostX, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and work on various projects
- Holder of a valid, full, clean Irish driving license
Job description and Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the IM Chief Quantity Surveyor and collaborate with other members of the Commercial and Contracts team.
- Communicate with the Divisional Engineers from the Track IM and Building and Facilities (B&F) sections.
- Ability to conduct site visits and take site measurements.
- Prepare Pricing Documents (PD) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) in strict accordance with CESSM4 and ARM5.
- Review and update Forms of Tender and Schedule (FOT) and Instructions to Tenderers (ITT) documents in collaboration with the Procurement Department.
- Ability to conduct accurate and detailed Commercial Tender Analysis.
- Ability to confidently administer the Public Works forms of contract.
- Experience with NEC and FIDIC forms of contract would be desirable but not mandatory for the role.
- Evaluate Contractor payment applications and preparation of interim and final payment certificates.
- Ability to analyse and assess Contractor variation and claim submissions in accordance with the respective contract.
- Attend site visits, meetings and inspections to assess progress and address cost-related issues when required.
- Prepare Contractor Final Accounts in accordance with the respective contract
