We are looking to recruit 2 No 1st year Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitters (MAMF). As an apprentice you will work under the guidance of skilled staff and learn hands on skills in the installation, maintenace and repair of mechanical, hydraulic and automated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Observing and learning from skilled technicans in the maintenance and repairs of all types of machinery.Learning tasks like marking out, measuring, drilling, tapping, reaming and fastening components under instruction.
Safely using and maintaining various workshop equipment including lathes and grinding machines.
Assisting in the repair and fabrication of replacement parts using techniques like welding, brazing and soldering.
Reading and understanding drawings and diagrams to assemble machines and fit replacement parts.
Work collaboratively to drive a safe and compliant culture.
During the 4 year MAMF apprenticeship, the MAMF apprenticeship will be required to follow a specific course of
training and undergo a series of assessments to confirm that they have reached the industry standard required
for a MAMF Maintenance Fitter.Maintaining a logbook to record completed projects and skills learned during the apprenticeship.
Requirements:
A junior certificate or equivalent.Ability to work with your hands and be physically active.
A strong interest in mechanical and automated systems.
A commitment to understanding and following health and safety procedures in the workplace
