Application Details
Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.
To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.
Job Description
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.- Reception & General office duties
- Working with young people/children
- Work in the afterschool/homework support
- Maintain working relationship with local Traveller community in particular young people and parents so that parents are identified for activities.
- Deliver afterschool programme under the direction of the Youth Worker.
- Have a flexible approach to the working hours.
- Work as part of a team in Donegal Traveller’s Project and carry out any other tasks as requested.
- Responsible for the day to day housekeeping duties within DTP
- Carry out duties empathically using good communication skills
- To attend relevant meetings as directed by CE Supervisor and/or DTP
- Comply with all policies and procedures within Letterkenny CDP Clg. And Donegal Travellers Project
- Attend all training courses agreed by the CE Supervisor
- Any other duties appropriate to the post agreed by the CE Supervisor

Required to pass the Garda Vetting Process.

Training requirements will be identified with the community worker/supervisor. The worker will do training which is directly linked to the post. For example:
