Temporary Legal Receptionist/ Administrator
We are a hiring a Temporary Legal Receptionist/Administrator, on behalf of a small but busy Law firm, based in Co. Laois.
Location: Portlaoise, Co. LaoisDuration: Monday the 2nd March- Thursday the 12th March 2026 (Inclusive)

Rate: €14.50 per hour
**Please note: In order to be considered for this role, you must be fully available to cover all dates mentioned**
Key Responsibilities:
Answering and managing telephone enquiries from clients, barristers and court contactsDiary management, including scheduling appointments and court dates
Drafting and issuing correspondence to clients to update them on court proceedings
Liaising with barristers via telephone and email
Audio dictation (short recordings, approximately 20 seconds)
Scanning, processing and distributing incoming post
Undertaking general administrative duties and paperwork as required
Experience required:
Previous administrative or reception experience is essentialPrevious experience working within a legal environment is advantageous
A degree or demonstrated interest in law, particularly criminal law, is desirable but not essential
Ability to manage sensitive or challenging situations professionally with discretion, patience and empathy
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and diaries efficiently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all administrative and correspondence tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel
Reliable, punctual and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a small team
