Job Description:As a Welder in the road surfacing and asphalt industry, you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining metal components on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), surfacing machinery, and site equipment. Your work ensures the structural integrity, safety, and operational readiness of essential tools and vehicles used in road construction and maintenance.

Minimum Annual Remuneration & Benefits: €36,000 per year (based on experience)
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 2 years with a possibility of extension20 days annual leave
Location of Employment: Rochmoyle Ltd Moyle Big, Moyle, Co. Carlow
Hours of Work: 39 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday: 8 am to 4:45pm (45min break)Friday: 8 am to 3:45pm (45min break)
Key Responsibilities: Weld, fabricate, and repair metal components on HGVs, asphalt pavers, rollers, and bitumen sprayers.
Perform MIG, TIG, and arc welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium parts.Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or structural faults and carry out necessary repairs.
Modify and reinforce machinery frames, buckets, blades, and other attachments.
Read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
Operate cutting, grinding, and shaping tools to prepare surfaces and materials.
Ensure all welding work complies with safety and quality standards.
Collaborate with mechanics and site teams to support equipment maintenance and readiness.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
Qualifications: Proven experience in welding and fabrication, ideally within construction or plant machinery sectors.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.Ability to read engineering drawings and follow technical instructions.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Relevant welding certifications or qualifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Flexibility to work on-site, in workshops, and respond to urgent repair needs.
