Transport Planner

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our clients dynamic operations team. This key role will be responsible for the day-to-day scheduling and coordination of transport activities for specific client accounts and/or regions.

You will be working closely with team members across planning, administration, and driver operations, the Transport Planner will play a central part in ensuring service delivery, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across the logistics function.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare daily transport schedules for assigned customers and/or geographical areas.
Optimize routing for vehicles and resources to ensure operational efficiency.
Collaborate with other planners to manage shared assets and regional coordination.
Communicate clearly with drivers and support staff, ensuring accurate job instructions.
Monitor and balance driver workloads and working hours throughout the week.
Support administrative staff in ensuring timely and accurate reporting, documentation, and customer updates.
Contribute to planning-related audits, compliance requirements, and performance reporting.
Support the coordination of leave planning to maintain staffing levels.
Identify and escalate operational issues or potential service risks as needed.
Contribute to ongoing performance monitoring and improvements within the team.
Participate in regular operational meetings and provide input for service enhancements.

Participate in a shared out-of-hours support rota.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Transport & Logistics or relevant work experience in a similar role.
Minimum of 2 years in a transport planning or logistics coordination position.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills.
Effective communicator – both written and verbal.
Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.

Confident using transport systems and Microsoft Office tools.
