Job Description
General Operative Assistant
The participant will gain practical experience in: We are seeking motivated individuals to participate in our Work Placement and Experience
Program for General Construction Laborers.
This hands-on program provides practical experience in the construction industry whiledeveloping essential skills and safety knowledge.
The participant will:- Assist skilled tradespeople with various construction tasks
- Load and unload building materials and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work sites
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
- Prepare construction sites (digging, levelling, clearing)
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Perform general labour duties as assigned
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Participants will gain experience in:- Construction site safety
- Proper use of tools and equipment
- Blueprint and plan reading basics
- Material handling and storage
- Teamwork and professional workplace conduct
- Construction industry best practices
- Completion of basic safety orientation
- Adherence to all HSA safety regulations
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Drug-free workplace compliance
for all participants.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role isnecessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your
placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module
which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the
Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training
requirements for the WPEP.
