Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-focused HSE Officer to join a critical utilities hard services maintenance and team at a large, high-availability data centre energy facility in Dublin.

This is a site-based role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of Environmental, Health and Safety across all on-site operations. The HSE Officer will work closely with site leadership and a confidential client to ensure full compliance with site-specific HSE requirements, relevant legislation, and recognised management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the highest standards of Environmental, Health & Safety practices on site
  • Coordinate HSE activities to drive sustained and continuous improvement
  • Support the application of minimum HSE requirements and site safety standards
  • Facilitate compliance with Incident / Accident Management systems, including investigations and corrective actions
  • Promote and embed a strong, positive safety culture across site teams
  • Attend and contribute to monthly safety and stakeholder meetings
  • Collaborate with internal risk, assurance and compliance functions
  • Ensure all HSE actions are assigned, tracked, completed and closed out within the designated reporting systems
  • Facilitate monthly site HSE forums and support HSE representatives
  • Support operations teams in the review, approval and continuous improvement of RAMS for internal teams and suppliers
  • Proactively identify non-routine tasks and ensure comprehensive risk assessments are completed
  • Support internal and external HSE audit programmes and compliance requirements
  • Share incident learnings and best practice across the wider site network
  • Maintain and apply all relevant HSE policies, procedures and systems
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Monitor contractor and supplier activities to ensure adherence to site procedures and legal requirements
  • Manage training and re-training requirements and maintain a site-specific training matrix
  • Monitor and audit Permit to Work systems
  • Review site risk profiles using incident trends and available data, supporting action planning with operational teams
  • Support operational teams with safety management requirements and provide competent HSE advice
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including senior managers, site leadership, safety representatives and external bodies
  • Actively support continuous improvement and HSE-related projects

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)

Desirable:

  • Experience working with high-pressure gas installations
  • Experience with electrical HV systems
  • Auditor training, Managing Change and/or Risk Management experience
