IT Support Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Engineer to join a long-established organisation within the Irish equine industry based close to Kildare Town for a 12 month contract. This role offers the chance to take ownership of IT support within a well-respected organisation, working across multiple business functions while collaborating with a wider Shared Services team.
This is a stand-alone IT support role, ideal for a proactive and technically capable professional who enjoys autonomy, problem solving, and delivering high-quality IT support to end users.
Location: KildareFull-Time Onsite
Salary: €45,000 – €55,000 DOE
This is a 12 month contract
The IT Support Engineer will provide basic to advanced technical support across the organisation’s IT environment.The role focuses on supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, applications, and peripheral technologies, ensuring users receive prompt and effective assistance.
You will interact directly with users both in person and through digital communication channels, diagnosing issues, troubleshooting problems, and delivering solutions that keep systems running efficiently.
This position suits someone with strong technical knowledge across infrastructure, networks, systems, and security, combined with a customer-focused approach to IT support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide end-user support across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
Manage and support core infrastructure systems including: Microsoft 365, Firewalls, VMWare environments, Windows Server infrastructure
Support and deploy Windows 10/11 environments
Manage operating system and software patching
Provide support for varied business applications used across the organisation
Ensure IT security best practices are implemented and maintained
Maintain and support local and wide area networks
Research, source, and implement hardware and software solutions where required
Contribute to the delivery of IT projects and technology improvements
Skills & Experience Required
Degree in Information Technology or equivalent qualification
3–5 years’ experience in a computer technician or IT support role
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience supporting LAN/WAN networks and IT infrastructure
Good working knowledge of IT systems, servers, networks, and security
Excellent communication skills with a user-focused approach to support
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
