Maintenance Planner/Reliability Engineer
Overview:
We are looking for a Maintenance Planner/Reliability Engineer to join our site-based maintenance team. This role combines hands-on maintenance planning with SAP PM expertise and a strong focus on improving plant reliability.A key focus of the role is improving the quality of work orders and optimising SAP PM (Computerised Maintenance Management System), working closely with the cross-functional site teams to ensure work is well defined, prioritised, and ready for execution while improving planning effectiveness, backlog health, and equipment availability
This is a practical, plant-facing role, suited to someone who enjoys working across functions and making systems work better.The role ensures that all maintenance activities are effectively planned, scheduled, and executed with minimal disruption to operations. This role supports asset reliability, optimises resources, and facilitates data-driven decision-making to improve plant performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage high-quality maintenance work orders and plans in SAP PM
- Improve SAP PM work order quality and reduce duplication and low-value requests
- Collaborate with Operations on equipment availability and maintenance scheduling
- Analyse equipment history to identify reliability improvement opportunities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance planning and reliability
- Spend time in the field to understand equipment issues and validate work scopes
- Engage with the plant functions to ensure planning decisions reflect real equipment condition and operating context
Qualifications:
What We’re Looking For- Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner or similar role in an industrial environment
- Strong SAP PM experience (Plant Maintenance module)
- Practical understanding of plant maintenance and equipment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work with multiple functions and competing priorities
- Reliability engineering or asset management experience
- Qualified Trade background or engineering qualification
- Experience with SAP PM optimisation or data improvement initiatives
