Senior Linux/Unix Systems Engineer (Cork OR Dublin) New

Senior Linux/UNIX Systems Engineer to join a global enterprise IT infrastructure team. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of mission‑critical UNIX/Linux systems in a large, high‑availability environment.
You will be a key technical escalation point, working closely with global teams to automate operations, resolve complex system issues, and drive continuous improvements that support business‑critical applications.
This role can be based in Cork or Dublin.
Key Responsibilities- Member of the Core Automation Team, supporting global Linux/UNIX infrastructure
- Design and deliver automation solutions for large‑scale Linux/UNIX environments
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system optimisation
- Support system builds, upgrades, patching, and migrations
- Contribute to global automation projects and rollouts
- Engineering degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
- 10+ years’ experience in UNIX/Linux System Administration
- Strong expertise in RHEL, SUSE, AIX, and CentOS
- Hands‑on experience with Ansible and Puppet
- Solid knowledge of LDAP, DNS, networking, and Linux troubleshooting
- Experience in kernel tuning, Linux image customisation, and open‑source builds
- Experience with Foreman, ELK Stack, and Grafana
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global, distributed team
