We are hiring for a Specification Technologist on behalf of one our clients based in Kildare in the food manufacturing industry, to join their Compliance & Innovation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in food science and specifications who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Reporting to the NPI Compliance Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring all product specifications are completed accurately and delivered on-time. You will act as a vital technical contact for customers, support new product development projects and ensure that all products meet safety, legal and customer requirements.
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare (Hybrid: 3/2 office split)Salary: €35,000
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with procurement and suppliers to ensure new raw materials comply with customer and plant requirements.Serve as the key customer contact for specification-related queries.
Complete and maintain accurate gold-standard specifications in line with customer codes of practice.
Calculate nutritional information for new and existing products, verifying claims where necessary.
Review and approve labels, generate pack copy and manage customer artwork to meet all labelling legislation.
Support NPD projects to ensure products launched are safe, legal and customer compliant.
Generate product information sheets and maintain internal specification systems and trackers.
Carry out and assist with in-house sensory analysis.
Keep up to date with HACCP, food safety and relevant legislation.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the wider C&I team.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Food Science, Culinary Science or a related discipline (preferred).Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a food manufacturing or similar technical role.
Retail specification experience.
Knowledge of EU legislation, food labelling and allergen requirements.
Strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Strong project management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally and with customers.
Self-starter with high motivation, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
What’s on Offer:
Competitive salary of €35,000.Hybrid working options: Ireland: 3 days office / 2 days remote OR fully office based.
Monday–Friday role, 9am-5:30pm, no shifts.
