Assistant Design Manager - Limerick

Overview:

John Sisk & Son are seeking an experienced Assistant Design Manager to come on board our Team based in Limerick for a period of 6-8weeks.

The Assistant Design Manager will be responsible for co-ordinating the design elements and interfaces of specific task or project dependent on size and complexity. They will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project ensuring that the design is delivered in line with the programme requirements and is of a quality that reflects the budget constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of ‘design’ related items within the tender bid process
  • Have input into the selection of the design team.
  • Manage and assist the Design Co-ordinator during the construction.
  • Act as mentor/advisor to Design Co-ordinator during the construction phase.
  • Manage design consultants and sub consultants along with design sub-contractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design related information for the execution of the works on site.
  • Liaise with the M&E Co-ordinator to ensure compatibility of building and services.
  • Report on the design in line with cost meetings.

Experience:

  • Understand the different Client procurement routes
  • Experience of working and supporting the pre-construction stage
  • Understanding of various forms of Contract
  • Commercial awareness
  • Good working knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures and CDM.
  • Be able to use Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/BIM/Cad and View Point for Projects (4Projects)

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Construction or Design related role
  • Programming software
  • Breem
  • Building Regs
