Application Details
Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.
You can register your interest by selecting the ‘Register your interest’ button or you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Drug Rehabilitation Community Employment Scheme
Our CLG Drug Rehabilitation Community Employment Scheme supports individuals who are in recovery or working towards recovery from substance use. The scheme helps participants reconnect with their community and working life through training, education, work experience, and activities, while providing therapeutic support for drug and alcohol issues.
About the Role:This role involves working closely with the CE Supervisor and therapeutic staff to help manage the Community Employment Drug Rehabilitation Scheme. You will play a key part in supporting participants as they address substance use issues, building trusting relationships with dignity and respect at the forefront.
This role reflects the values and mission of Merchants Quay Ireland and the Sponsoring Organisation.
Duties- Assist in the coordination and delivery of programnes and activities for participants.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with participants, while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with participants, team members, and others involved in the scheme.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Provide compassionate and understanding support, while maintaining an assertive approach when needed.
- Adapt to the changing needs of the scheme and participants, demonstrating flexibility in your role and approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- A good standard of spoken and written English.
- While knowledge of Health & Social Care is an advantage, it is not essential.
- A flexible approach to working in a dynamic and evolving environment.
