Purpose of the Role:-
The Healthcare Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the residents with activities pf daily living. Tasks required by this job include: Following direction of nurse in charge in carrying out care, record keeping and reporting. Serving meals to service users at table or in bed, and assists with feeding if required; Generally assisting with service users in their overall comfort and well-being; Providing interest and activities to stimulate and engage the service user; Monitoring service users conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and contributes to record keeping; Liaising with professional staff in carrying out care plans etc.
Qualifications/Skills:-
FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or equivalent. (completed or in progress) Experience working in a healthcare environment (with a good knowledge of HIQA standards) Excellent communication skills Ability to maintain a positive approach in a sometimes-challenging environment Caring and empathetic nature Fluent level of English both written and oral Right to work in Ireland.Must be available to work day, night and weekend shifts on a fulltime basis.
