About the Finance Business Partner role
We are seeking a strategically minded Finance Business Partner to join a dynamic and values-driven organisation. This role will act as a strategic and operational advisor, providing financial insight, planning, and performance analysis to support senior management and budget holders.
Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner
Partner with directorates, departments, and committees to align budgets with strategic objectives.Provide financial insight and develop business cases to support projects and initiatives.
Lead and coordinate annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Monitor performance against budgets, investigating and reporting on variances.
Prepare accurate and timely management accounts tailored to stakeholder needs.
Analyse key financial and operational performance indicators, producing clear and actionable insights.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, audit requirements, and regulations.
Oversee and manage internal audit programmes, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
Act as the primary finance contact for designated business units, fostering financial literacy and ownership.
Communicate complex financial information in a clear and accessible manner to non-finance colleagues.
Skills and Experience
Qualified Accountant (ACA/CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Finance Business Partner or similar role.
Proven experience in financial analysis, planning, and business partnering.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
High proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle).
Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Knowledge of governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks (experience in not-for-profit, education, or public sector desirable).
