HGV Electrical Mechanic New

Flexsource are currently recruiting for an Auto Mechanic Electrician for our client based in Dublin. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic systems on waste collection vehicles, including side loaders, rear loaders, and hook-lift trucks.

• Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably working on waste collection vehicles or heavy-duty fleet vehicles
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role preferred
• Strong knowledge of HDV electrical and electronic systems
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and use diagnostic equipment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced fleet environment
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills

• Adhere strictly to health and safety policies and safe systems of work
• Use PPE and approved tools correctly
• Report defects, hazards, and incidents immediately
• Ensure vehicles are safe before returning them to service

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Proven experience as a truck / HGV mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Good knowledge of HGV mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently and manage workload
• Strong health & safety awareness

Desirable:

• HGV mechanic qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
• Experience in the waste or logistics industry (desirable)
• HGV Class C / C+E license

Hours:

• Monday to Friday with flexibility for Saturdays
• 4 weeks of annual leave.
