Logistics Supervisor - Cork

On behalf of our client, a leading multinational operating in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, we are seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join their high-performing team based in Little Island, Cork.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this is a hands-on supervisory role with responsibility for the day-to-day management of onsite logistics operations. You will lead a team of three and play a key role in driving performance, ensuring compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement within a highly regulated supply chain environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong logistics leadership experience, ideally gained within food, pharma or similarly regulated sectors, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of three logistics staff to ensure efficient and compliant daily operations
- Coordinate all outgoing shipments (domestic and international), ensuring accuracy and delivery deadlines are met
- Act as the point of escalation for shipping issues and challenges
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Liaise with corporate supply chain and customer service teams to align logistics with customer needs
- Oversee day-to-day carrier and freight forwarder relationships, driving performance and service levels
- Identify alternative transport routes or modes to maintain flexibility and service quality
- Ensure all compliance responsibilities related to freight, customs, and costs are met
- Support strategic projects that address freight constraints
- Develop and coach your team to achieve performance targets and ongoing development
- Set KPIs and monitor team performance, maintaining up-to-date training records
- Collaborate with site management and wider supply chain stakeholders to shape the future logistics model
- Track and report KPIs through local and corporate dashboards
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong knowledge and commitment to logistics safety standards
- 5+ years of experience using SAP or a similar ERP system at subject matter expert level
- Third-level qualification in Supervision, Management, or relevant field, or 5+ years in a logistics leadership role
- Proven team leadership and people development experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working within GMP, quality, and compliance environments (highly desirable)
- Strong systems knowledge and computer literacy
- Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally within a matrix organisation
