EHS Manager – Manufacturing

Are you an experienced EHS professional ready to take ownership of safety, sustainability, and compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are partnering with a growing and globally connected pharmaceutical manufacturer seeking an EHS Manager to lead and shape their Environmental, Health & Safety strategy.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive safety culture, influence operations, and play a key part in continuous improvement across the organisation. This is a fully onsite role based in the West of Ireland, offering strong visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to make a real difference.

The Opportunity

This is more than a compliance role. You will be responsible for leading, developing, and embedding best-in-class EHS practices across a complex manufacturing environment. You will also play a key role in developing your team, improving systems, and driving initiatives that enhance both employee wellbeing and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive the company’s EHS strategy, aligning with business goals and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Own site-wide EHS compliance, audits, and safety programmes
Maintain and enhance the Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organisation through a proactive risk management approach
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing EHS team
  • Oversee occupational health programmes, promoting wellbeing and proactive health initiatives
  • Manage emergency response planning and ensure readiness through regular testing
  • Act as the key contact for regulatory bodies, audits, and external stakeholders
  • Drive incident reporting, root cause analysis, and preventative actions
  • Develop and roll out EHS training and communication programmes across the business
  • Ensure compliance with chemical safety and dangerous goods regulations
  • Oversee contractor safety and ensure adherence to site standards
  • Support sustainability and ESG initiatives and reporting
  • Provide clear EHS performance reporting to senior leadership

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in EHS, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical or GMP manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to build, develop, and influence teams
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Experience working with chemical safety and industrial safety systems

A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability

Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on when required

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Recognised Occupational Health & Safety qualification

Why Apply:

This is a standout opportunity to step into a leadership role with real influence and visibility. You will have the chance to shape EHS strategy, lead a strong team, and contribute to a growing organisation with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.

You will be joining a business where your expertise is valued, your voice is heard, and your impact is visible.
