Morgan McKinley - Social Care Worker

We are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent Social Care Worker to join a residential care service supporting young people seeking international protection in Kilkenny.

The role involves a combination of shifts, which may include day shifts, 24-hour shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trusting relationships with young people in care
• Support with daily living, educational routines, and social activities
• Develop and implement placement and care plans
• Maintain care records in accordance with HIQA standards
• Work closely with external professionals and families
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents at all times

Essential Requirements:

• A minimum Level 7 degree in Social Care or related field (e.g. Applied Social Studies, Psychology, Youth & Community Work, ABA, Disability Studies)
• Or, CORU registration as a Social Care Worker
• A full clean manual driving licence
• Minimum 2 years' experience working in a residential or similar care setting
• Knowledge of HIQA National Standards and Children First Guidelines
• Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

• Trauma-informed care training
• MAPA or TCI certification
• Experience working with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds
