Title: Maintenance Technician

Production support on process improvement with either mechanical or electrical trade

Description In this role the candidate will be part of the maintenance team responsible for the setup, repair and maintenance of process equipment in a fast-paced production environment. The key responsibility of the maintenance technician will be to work as part of the maintenance team to support production by ensuring equipment is setup as required and maintained such that downtime is minimised with equipment issues addressed, eliminated and reported while following EHS and GMP guidelines.
This role will report to the Process Engineering Manager. Responsibilities & Duties- Carry out all intensive planned preventative maintenance procedures for all company manufacturing/production equipment.
- Effectively communicate & discuss related to day-to-day activity and concerns within team for efficiency and performance improvement. – Shift handover completion
- To ensure compliance of current Good Manufacturing Practices in the Facility/Utility and Manufacturing areas.
- Ensure application of EH&S policies and procedures (contractor safety, work permits, etc.)
- Use of Permit to work system or other safety systems to control Maintenance Activities
- To ensure that Preventive Maintenance is carried out in co-ordination with the departments concerned as per schedule - Maximo.
- Be flexible to cover Production needs and Engineering needs on site as they arise.
- To avoid and minimize the Breakdown time of production equipment/systems in an efficient manner.
- To ensure the compliance of Maintenance Department activities as per Quality management system.
- To assist in the execution of FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ/PQ activities as required for newly installed equipment/Systems.
- Review, Identify and capture opportunities for improvement in equipment maintainability and reliability and to implement same.
- To maintain a Process for PM execution and asset management Identification for all Production Equipment as per cGMP and SOP
- To ensure the procedure for Equipment Spare parts/change parts is followed in relation to storage, usage and re-ordering.
- To ensure all unplanned maintenance activities are completed as per relevant procedure in relation to execution and documenting.
- Complete relevant GMP documentation to support batch activity, equipment qualification, planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Good computer skills required for completion of shift handovers and use of electronic systems (Maximo, Training manager etc.)
- To provide technical support to production in all aspects of machine and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
