Business Analyst / Apps Support New
- Month Daily Rate Contract | €250 per day | Hybrid Working (2 Days Onsite per Week)
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst & Application Support Specialist to join a large public-sector organisation on a 12-month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing enhancement, support, and development of a critical grant management platform while working closely with business and technical stakeholders.
The successful candidate will combine strong business analysis skills with hands-on application support experience, helping to deliver system improvements, support users, and contribute to data migration and reporting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support (L1 & L2)- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for internal and external users of the grant management platform.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
- Manage support tickets and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Ensure service levels are maintained and users receive a high level of support.
- Support user onboarding, training, and documentation activities.
- Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Gather, document, and validate business and system requirements.
- Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Produce functional and technical documentation as required.
- Support the configuration, testing, and deployment of new grant schemes and programmes.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Assist with system enhancements and rollout initiatives.
- Support the migration of data from a legacy grant management platform to the current solution.
- Assist with data validation, reconciliation, testing, and quality assurance activities.
- Develop and execute migration test scripts and support issue resolution.
- Support the development and enhancement of management reporting solutions.
- Assist with Power BI dashboards and reporting outputs.
- Provide technical support for reporting and data-related queries.
- Effective management of the application support helpdesk.
- Successful configuration and deployment of grant schemes.
- Production of high-quality functional and technical documentation.
- Data migration support, testing, validation, and reconciliation activities.
- Ongoing support and enhancement of Power BI reporting solutions.
- Strong experience with SmartSimple (highly desirable) or a similar grant management platform.
- Proven experience providing L1 and L2 application support.
- Previous experience working as an IT Business Analyst.
- Experience working within public sector, regulated, or highly governed environments.
- Experience supporting data migration projects.
- Knowledge of Power BI reporting and dashboard development.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience participating in UAT and system implementation activities.
