The Opportunity
We are seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join the SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) team in Swords. Reporting to the SHE Director, this role provides expert support across operations and departments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead exposure monitoring & containment programmes, conduct sampling, reports, and validations.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) with risk assessments and banding.
- Ensure chemical compliance (CLP & REACH) through audits, labelling checks, and awareness.
- Manage ergonomics programmes, manual handling, and DSE assessments.
- Advise on projects, equipment, and facility compliance.
- Oversee safety programmes: hazardous substances, transport of dangerous goods, respiratory/hearing, asbestos, legionella, laser/radiation, and occupational health.
- Deliver training & awareness on SHE/IH programmes.
- Act as SME and contact point for incidents, audits, and compliance reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum:
- BSc in a scientific discipline.
- Qualification (or working towards) in Industrial/Occupational Hygiene.
- Proven IH/occupational hygiene exposure assessments experience.
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing background.
- Handling/containment of APIs & HPAPIs.
- IH sampling plan development & field sampling.
Desirable:
- Occupational Toxicology training.
- Ergonomic & DSE assessments.
- Regulatory audit/authority experience.
- Plant/equipment qualification.
