Maintenance Engineer (24/7 Shift Role)

Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Equipment Engineer to join a leading global organisation specialising in advanced materials engineering solutions used in semiconductor and display manufacturing. This role is ideal for mechanically or electrically focused engineers who enjoy troubleshooting, solving complex electro-mechanical issues, and working in a hands-on technical environment.

Based onsite in Kildare, you will provide installation, maintenance, and technical support for highly advanced equipment. Following a comprehensive training programme, you will move into a 24/7 four-cycle shift rotation.

This position includes an extensive international training programme. Successful candidates will initially spend 8 weeks at one of the company’s global training facilities before returning to Ireland. You will also have ongoing opportunities to train and collaborate with industry experts across the global organisation.

Role
  • Install, qualify, maintain, and repair complex electrical and mechanical systems
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on:
  • Vacuum systems
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Plasma and gas systems
  • Electronic and electro-mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues using digital analytics tools
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Support customers onsite to ensure successful equipment performance
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times

Requirements

Essential
  • Full, unrestricted working rights in Ireland (Stamp 4 or equivalent)
  • Full driving licence
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift rotation
  • Willingness to travel internationally for training
Desirable
  • Technical qualification (ideally Level 7) or equivalent industry experience
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic environments
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues
  • Mechanical aptitude in areas such as:
  • Pneumatics
  • Hydraulics
  • Electronics
  • Vacuum systems
  • Thermodynamics
  • Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
