PE Global is working with Ireland’s Semi-state bodies involved with Renewable Energy to recruit a Program Manager to join the team in Kildare. This is a full time, permanent role, offering opportunities for the right candidate to work on wholly owned projects or focus on projects with other renowned stakeholders.

The Role:

The PMO Program Manager leads the delivery of large-scale renewable energy programs—including wind, solar, battery storage, flex-tech, and grid infrastructure.

This strategic role oversees a portfolio of interrelated projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivering results on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

The role includes managing a team of Project Managers and ensuring consistent governance and methodology across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and coordination across renewable energy programs, aligning project execution with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and oversee tailored project plans for each initiative, including scope, budget, scheduling, risk, and resource planning.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, promoting a high-performance culture and supporting their development.
  • Ensure strong project governance, including compliance with internal processes, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution across the project lifecycle.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and procurement activities; lead commercial negotiations and ensure robust, value-driven contracts.
  • Identify and manage program-level risks and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practices.
  • Ensure full adherence to health, safety, and welfare protocols across all activities.
  • Lead and performance-manage direct reports, contributing to overall team and organisational objectives.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years’ experience in large-scale energy or infrastructure project delivery, including 3+ years in a senior management role.
  • Proven commercial acumen with experience in procurement, budgeting, and contract management.
  • Strong understanding of Ireland’s regulatory, grid, and planning frameworks.
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • PMP or equivalent certification desirable.
  • Deep knowledge of project management principles, particularly in lean, outsourced delivery models.
